A nurse practitioner is a registered nurse with advanced training and is a licensed healthcare provider.  The nurse practitioners at Hampshire Obstetrical and Gynecological Associates work collaboratively with our physicians and nurse midwives to provide care to our patients at both the Amherst and Northampton offices.  Nurse practitioners provide comprehensive preventive care, evaluation of gynecological problems, as well as pre and post-partum services.  A woman may also wish to visit them for concerns such as menopausal symptoms, sexually transmitted disease, birth control services, pelvic pain, urinary problems, breast exams, pre-conception concerns, and routine annual examinations, and pap smears.
