Jacqueline S. Kates, M.D. joined Hampshire Obstetrical and Gynecological Associates in 2006, having spent the previous eight years in New York.  Dr. Kates values her patients as individuals and approaches each patient with compassion and sensitivity - along with a sense of humor!  Dr. Kates considers it a privilege to spend time with her patients, and she believes the most important aspect of every encounter is listening to what the patient is saying.  Her professional interests include clinical obstetrics and gynecology, adolescent gynecology, and community outreach.

Dr. Kates grew up in New Jersey but fell in love with western Massachusetts while visiting friends and family in the area.  She and her partner live in Northampton, MA where they are raising their daughter.  When not in the office or hospital, Dr. Kates soaks up every moment with her family; together, they enjoy traveling, hiking, boating, music, and theater.
